PWS -- Local Links Not Working While External Links Work

I have been trying to learn something about asp, in an on-line tutorial, and need PWS to test my pages. It was easy to install and in general, works well on our home network. The other stations can reach my local homepage and access my published documents -- however, we cannot reach locally saved html/asp pages in Inetpub/wwwroot/mywebfolder. I have used Add Link in Personal Web Manager to add these pages to my local home page. The links from my local home page, to my pages on the Internet work perfectly. I did initially get an error message, but downloaded mtssetup.exe from Microsoft, to replace mtssetup.dll, with no luck.

I am using Windows 98, on a PIII, 500. PWS was installed from the original Windows disk. It has been uninstalled and reinstalled using a copy downloaded from Mircrosoft.

Perhaps this is not doable on WIN98. If not, I would like to quit before spending a lot of time on this project. Anyone have experience with this program?

PWS4 on W98 will work like other webservers on any OS (except it's somewhat more unstable). If mywebfolder is a virtual directory then you should be able to browse to http://localhost/mywebfolder from the w98 computer, and http://<ip>/mywebfolder from other computers that can access the web server.

jmurrayhead agrees: I agree, this is very true.

Thanks, the correct path names help. I also reinstalled PWS with a new copy of the same version, which I downloaded. This copy has a help file, which the previous installation didn't have.
