Windows 95 format

Alright,
I have a 1997 Patriot computer... I wanna reformat windows 95. I have the f disk I've already uninstalled win 95 sucessfuly then formatted the C:. Now I just need to figure out how to get it to boot to the cd rom. I have the windows cd, I did it just a few months before but now I forget. I know I need to change my boot sequence in cmos... I tried that, I tried to change it to cd rom, a, c and then when ever it went to boot it up it said "trying to boot fro atapi" or something. Can someone tell me what the proper boot sequence should be.!

What you listed is what you want, maybe your CD drive is toasted?

If you've completely reformatted don't you need to reinstal the CD drivers first. It's been a while since I've worked with 95, but I'm sure the process is the same for most OS's.

I don't think so if the BIOS supports booting from a bootable CD. You do need to install CD drivers if you boot to a command prompt, the W98 rescue diskette will install the CD drivers for example.

Either way, the description sounds to me like a CD that can't be read in the CD drive, either a defective CD or CD Drive. That's my guess anyway.
