Windows 95 format
Alright,
I have a 1997 Patriot computer... I wanna reformat windows 95. I have the f disk I've already uninstalled win 95 sucessfuly then formatted the C:. Now I just need to figure out how to get it to boot to the cd rom. I have the windows cd, I did it just a few months before but now I forget. I know I need to change my boot sequence in cmos... I tried that, I tried to change it to cd rom, a, c and then when ever it went to boot it up it said "trying to boot fro atapi" or something. Can someone tell me what the proper boot sequence should be.! |

What you listed is what you want, maybe your CD drive is toasted?

If you've completely reformatted don't you need to reinstal the CD drivers first. It's been a while since I've worked with 95, but I'm sure the process is the same for most OS's.

I don't think so if the BIOS supports booting from a bootable CD. You do need to install CD drivers if you boot to a command prompt, the W98 rescue diskette will install the CD drivers for example. Either way, the description sounds to me like a CD that can't be read in the CD drive, either a defective CD or CD Drive. That's my guess anyway. |
