It could be possible that a program is not set to open a file with that extension. What you can do is open My Computer, click the Tools option on the toolbar, and click Folder Options. Then click the File Types tab. Find MSWMM in the list. Select it and see what comes up in the details block just below the list of file extensions. If it's not set to MovieMaker, then change it. You can also click the Advanced button, click Edit, and check to see if the following are the values for "Action" and Application used to perform action", respectively: @C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\wmm2res.dll,-63093 "C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\moviemk.exe" %1 |

Thank you for your reply!
I made what you were talking about: Now Movie Maker is near the MSWMM file tipe in Folder Options and the line @C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\wmm2res.dll,-63093 is in Advanced tab. But I can't open it as well! Any other ideas?.. ![]() |

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling MovieMaker? Do you get any error messages when trying to open the file or does it just not do anything? |

Thank you very much.
I understood what the thing was! My friend sent me the wrong file. He sent me the project file, not the movie itself. This is the information about how the movie is edited, scenes, transitions, etc. before it is saved as a WMV file. When I tried to open it, WMM was looking for the movie on my computer saved in that project, which was not there. I just told him to open that file and then click file, save as movie. |
