Windows Server 2003
Hi all, can anybody help me with my problem? Recently I installed the windows server 2003 on my computer as a server for my small network at home. I created a domain and users for couple of my workstations. Everything went well until suddenly all my workstation can't see my server. I can log in to the server, but I tried ping the server from all the workstations and vice versa, none of them got reply back. Any idea where or what did I do wrong? Thanks.

Have you changed any hardware settings (NIC cards, cables, switches etc.)?
Are any firewalls installed on any of the computers preventing communication? Have you tried pinging by IP address as well as by computer name? |

I had this problem too, but these symptoms can be the result of dozens of problems. In my case it was because my NIC capped out from being left on 24/7 for 14 days at a stretch.
Try turning your computer off for a few minutes then reboot. If that doesn't work, try reinstalling the TCP/IP Stack (a very complicated procedure). Question: Does your network switch show any Ethernet connectivity? (as in: is the 10/100 light on?) |
