Windows XP problems
hi guys i have following problems in my pc..
first thing is registry edit has been disabled.. when i try to run regedit it says registry edit has been disable by ur administrator and the pc restarts... i tried to search this on google but didn't find any reasonable help..
2nd thing when i try to download any .exe file from internet again pc restarts...
3rd tools---> folder option is not visible
and also can't run any game which tries to modify registry..
i tried anti spyware and virus scan (mcafee, norton) but can't get it solved..
can anyone here help me

Have you tried looking for suspicious processes in the task manager and disabling them? Can you get to the registry editor in Safe Mode?

What system are you having this problem on? Is this a personal machine? Also, what OS are you using? This message typically indicates the use of group policies.

enabling regedit
it seems like u have virus on your pc. Try removing it with some antivirus. Then, u probably need to enable your regedit by running this from your DOS Shell:
reg import regedit_enable.reg

the regedit_enable.reg should contain these lines:

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\System]
"DisableRegistryTools"=-

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Policies\System]
"DisableRegistryTools"=-
