Windows XP User Account Type Change

I've changed a "Limited" account to "Administrator" on XP in an attempt to troubleshoot an issue. When I tried to change it back from "Administrator" to "Limited," the Limited choice is grayed out.

I still have the original Administrator account active. I have tried changing the account type from both the account I want to change back and the Administrator account I want to keep.

Any ideas are most appreciated.

Diana

Have you tried doing it from safe mode, logging into the administrator account?

A work around would be to delete and re-create, but, if you're wanting to save personal preferences, you would need to save them in a folder that you can access from a new account (for instance, make a new folder in the root and save the personal preferences from the old account, and then put them back in the appropriate folders on the new account)
