XP Mapping Issues

I have a XP Machine on our network that is not logging back into the network on bootup. Username and password are correct.

When windows boots up we get a message on the machine saying not connected to network drive. I open up the explore window, look at the network drive and it appears to be connected.

I try to run my network program and says its not connected to the network. So I click on the network drive in explore - then it will display all the files on that drive. I again open up my network program and it works fine.

Can anyone help pLeAsE????

Did you check the 'reconnect at logon' box when you mapped the drive?

Yes.. on the reconnect box.

I did notice that after doing the windows updates that sometimes this problem happens but not always. I did try disconnecting and remapping but did not solve the problem.

any firewalls on ? try turning any active firealls off and retrying the mapping ?

see if this page helps
http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...kb;en-us;297694

try running "sfc /scannow" from the run prompt and retrying the mapping (long long shot but always try everything... you will need your xp cd for this)
