XP shut down does a restart

HI all, I was wondering if anyone encountered this problem. Sometimes when I do a start-turn off computer- turn off it actually doesnt shut down but it does a restart or it seems to just act like some hit the restart button.

Try to repair the windows xp installation as its shut down sequence may be corrupt. Insert the WinXP cd and boot up your pc and select the repair installation option to see if that fixes it.
