DOS Batch - Need Help with a backup script
Hi
I want to make a backup script that takes a whole partition and winrars it(I want to have it have a password on it too). Once it winrars it I want it to upload to a ftp site. I want this to happen all either at a set time or just before shutdown. It would be nice too if it would not override the previous one. That it would say do backup1,backup2,backup3,backup4,backup5 and then start overriding backup1. The partition I have this stuff on is very small its about 200mb and that is probably way to much. I just want to backup the whole partition since I don't have everything on that partition in a folder. So I don't know how to do this. Or where to begin and to be honest I really don't want to learn how to the scripting since I got enough on my plate and I rather focus on the stuff I actually want to work on. This is just a way for me to backup up my important file. Thanks |

Are you actually using the WinRar application? And if so, which version?
I need to look at automating it. This is a pretty easy script once you get the pieces in place. I'll throw one together for you and then we can take a look at tweaking it to your own personal needs.
