Speaking of .BAT files
Does anyone know of a command I can use in a batch file that will allow me to push a text variable to a Windows or IE dialog box? For example, lets say I want to access an intranet page, and have to enter in a "domain\subdomain\username" each time that site is accessed. I want to setup a Batch file that will allow me to then setup a shortcut key that will push that string of text into the dialog field?
Is this possible? Thanks in advance, Rich |

hello Rich and welcome to aspfree! ![]() I don't understand what you're asking for. BAT file run through the command line so it does not have any dialogs - it does not have GUI. to write text use the ECHO command. |

Let me clarify

So here's the scenario: I launch an IE Link, (URL address blocked: See forum rules) It is secured, and for whatever reason, in Windows XP Pro, it does not pass along your Domain info, requiring the domain info to be typed+username + pw each time. What I was hoping, was to have a BAT file that I can assign to an Fx key, that will launch the BAT file, and pass the domain\username test string into the field where the cursor is in the login dialog box... I'm not sure it's possible, that's half the question here... Thanks |

well, I understand what you ask now and I doubt it's possible
without full scale programming language, but hopefully the scripting masters here will have better answer. ![]() |
