Network/Wired - Access Network Share

Hi All,

I'm new to this forum hoping someone can help me with the following issue.

I have a user on the company network that has all the permissions to access a certain share on the network.

Here's the funny thing, when we try to access the share via "My Computer" we get a message access denied, but when we try to access the share via Windows Explorer we have access.

So you see we get access via this workaround but it's very disturbing not knowing what is causing this issue.

Thanks for any feedback on this.

D.

What are the share permissions set to? What are the NTFS permissions set to?

Keep in mind, access to a share all comes down to the most restrictive permissions between Share and NTFS.

Are you sure the path in My Computer is the same as the path in Windows Explorer? Your problem could lie there.

Typically, when I create shares, I give Administrators group and Everyone group Full Control at the share level and then narrow down the permissions via NTFS.
