Help Anyone

Hi, newbie here, and found the site to be really helpful. Anyway, I have a problem. My old computer's motherboard died out on me overnight. Changed the power supply and same thing. No power at all. Got it checked and indeed it was the board. Its a Compaq and I know its hard to find parts for it. That isn't really the problem. My problem is, since the old motherboard is dead, the others (DVD ROM, Hard Disk etc.) are still ok. I got a new computer and I want to transfer the files. This is where the problem lies. When I was still using my old computer I have a profile where my documents are inside, so I installed the old hard disk tried to transfer it and it says "ACCESS DENIED". Now I remembered that once you create a profile and you have a password, it will ask if you want your documents to be in PRIVATE so no one else can access that. I chose that (to be PRIVATE) now I have no idea how to get the old files. Is there anyway to remove the "ACCESS DENIED"?
