General Scripting - Server Side Scripting and Viruses
I would like to hear from client and server side script programmers because I would like to know how does my computer get infected via normal surfing using my browser (Internet Explorer or Firefox) and not by downloading suspicious or malicious files or attachments. I only wish to understand the mechanics of it so that I can try to find out a solution to protect my computer. If this is the wrong place for this post please let me know and accept my humble apologies.

Thread moved to Windows Security forum.
This is a tough question to answer. Generally these types of problems arise from the acceptance of third-party ActiveX controls.
