You may want to check with them if it's installed or if they can install it for you.

Is your Windows server IIS or Apache based? If the latter, it is most likely supported by default. If the former, it can be added.
If your host won't install it for you, there are scripts that can do it.

Getting Gzip is a good move. It will help to reduce the bandwidth usage.
