i am on network and using belkins router. is there any other place where i can host webpages. i have tried free hosing websites but for some reasons my page doesn't work on that.

sorry if someone had already asked similar question.

thanks in advance

how do you mean they dont work, have you hosted them on an asp site, as they will not work on a linux machine unless they have chillisoft installed and i dont know any freee hosts that do that?

Have you tried www.1asphost.com, they should work on there ok.

Using your ip address is not that simple, i think you would have to either change the settings on your iis to get it to go there, but unless you have a fixed ip address this will be a waste of time, if you do a google search there should be tutorials on it

Access your router's control panel (usually by entering it's IP address into a Telnet client or web-browser) and look for "Port Forwarding"; when you find it, forward port 80 to your laptop. Ensure that your laptop has a static IP address first.

for you to host your website yourself you will also need to be connected to the internet all the time and have your computer on all the time, otherwise ppl wont be able to visit your site.

Good Luck

And have appropiate DNS settings... and a registered domain name

Unless you want people to memorize an IP address?

Remembering IPv6 addresses is going to be a pain, I can assure you. (128 hexadecimal characters, ouch)
