If you want something in a quick...
Get Windows XP Professional and the freeware MSDE (cut down MS SQL Server 2000 version). As for global access... just use static internal IPs, just forward port 80 on your router to your internal server. If you want something more heavy duty... like me, you can put together a box capable of running Windows Server 2003 with SQL Server 2000 and IIS6 for around £150. However, WS2003 and SQL Server CALs will set you back anything between £500 to £20,000. |
