Suggest me a webhost

We have some sites on Godaddy and we have some .net web apps on it.
But we, sometime or the other, face some problems, specially database (MySql) timeouts issue and session timeout issues with them.

Can somebody suggest me some other/used web hosts??

Thanx
Micky

Hi there Micky,

You might want to check out fasthosts.co.uk and winhost.com

Haven't used winhost yet but will be doing so when in order to (finally) launch my site, and then will move to fasthosts. For me, it's not an issue of affording the monthly bills but committing to a year of the monthly bills in the knowledge that the service might just bomb. Winhost is on a straightforward monthly billing cycle (no long term contract) whereas fasthosts is an annual contract.

Fasthosts business hosting account (£16/month) offers load-balancing over 3 servers and unlimited webspace, which will be useful for my service as I hope that many, many people will register and each will probably upload 3 pics - and that means a lot of webspace.

The only reservation that I have with fasthosts is that they throttle emails to (something like) 5 in every 5 minutes / 10 in any 30 minutes on their hosted accounts, whereas winhost limits it to 5000 per day regardless. I'll be setting up an email server using an old PC for once my needs exceed 5000 emails/day but I'm not confident of the service's long-term future.

In the long-term, I'm aiming on using fasthosts hosted business account for hosting, a fasthosts dedicated server for emailing, and a fasthosts dedicated server for Mysql db - grand total about £134/month - too much for me to commit to for a full year if the service bombs, but not much if it goes ok.

Anyway, take a look and maybe comment here. Would be interested to hear your thoughts and what other hosts you find.
