What connection for webhosting?
Hi,
Im not too sure if this is the right place to ask about this. If I was to start a webhosting service and was going to be aiming for approx 1000 customers in the first year what kind of connection would be needed?
Ive been looking at leased line prices but not sure about the difference between the speeds I would be getting from a leased line compared to a business adsl package.
From what I can gather a 2mb/s leased line seems to be faster than a 2mb/s adsl package.
I would have thought that for approx 1000 websites being hosted greater than 2mb would be needed but then from quotes on a 10mb leased line it seems that the pricing is huge for that connection to the point where it would seem unfeasible for a small webhosting company to put that amount up front on a new business venture.
Any information that anyone has to the differences between the available options or to the average connection that would be best suited for a new webhosting company would be most appreciated.
Thanks for any information in advance.
