Bit of a cross platform issue so bear with me.
I have an ASP web service in C# that uses the [WebMethod] directive to turn C# functions into SOAP XML message handlers.
We have a VB 6 client that talks to the web service sending these messages. Occasionally we have found the data we send has HTML characters in it (like &). These are rejected by the web server (the web method is not triggered).
How can we escape these characters such that the Web Method will get triggered and see the &?
We tried substituting %nn but that just went through as is and I don't want to have to decode it.
